The Law Offices of Michael J. Repak in Yardley, Pennsylvania – Experienced Elder Law Services

One of the biggest concerns children have for their aging parents is planning their long-term care. Everyone knows about the enormous costs of nursing home care and assisted-living facilities and we worry about whether or not our parents are really going to be able to get the quality of care they need. However, planning for old age is not simply about money, but rather it is a new lifestyle that requires adaptation and planning in order to maintain independence and ensure that your wishes are respected. That is why my law office approaches the practice of elder law as assisting elderly adults with the legal issues in every aspect of their life in order to make their later years more enjoyable and stress-free.

Personalized Services
My law office focuses our attention on the individual, not the legal issue. I can draft personalized wills, living wills and powers of attorney to ensure that a person’s wishes are respected. At my law office, I treat each of my clients as a person whose life I can help improve, and not just another drafting assignment.

At The Law Offices of Michael J. Repak in Yardley, Pennsylvania, I provide experienced elder law services for clients who need to ensure that their parents will be able to get the care that they need. I provide experienced legal services in the areas of:

Asset management tools such as gifts and trusts can serve as methods of planning estates for Medicaid eligibility. These devices are perfectly acceptable methods of estate planning and are available to nearly everyone. To do it properly, however, one needs someone with the right legal experience and skills.

As a veteran tax attorney and member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, I have the legal skills necessary to plan your parent’s estate in order to provide for the highest quality of care possible while still conserving their assets.

Medicaid Planning
Most elderly citizens have come to rely on Medicare as their primary source of medical coverage. However, unknown to most people, Medicare does not provide for assisted care of any kind. If your parents have to enter a nursing home or assisted-care facility Medicare will not cover any of the costs. Medicaid will provide for long term care but the program requires complete depletion of the beneficiary’s assets. This becomes a serious problem when one’s assets are too great to efficiently deplete, but insufficient to provide for adequate long term care. With my help, your parents can tax advantage of tax laws and Medicaid regulations in order to qualify for Medicaid coverage without wasting estate assets.

When your parents are facing issues in long-term care planning, you are dealing with complex issues. While it is never too late to begin estate planning, it is always better to talk over the specifics of your own situation with an experienced lawyer as soon as possible.
